Mysterious Fates HCs and Timeline Info!

So i will try to keep this as short as I can but first off: I obviously do not own the characters and worlds combined in this fic. Save for the ocs and world logistics I create for this fic, all rights go to the respective creators. I would list them but I’ll have to include the ones from the aus as well and that's an entire list on its own-- you had to have seen the list of aus on the home page lmao.

and with that, i do need to address the elephant in the room: the transphobic author of the hp series. I created this series long before anything about her transphobia and her more shitty personality was revealed. Here's the thing: I would love to drop kick this entire thing to the curb. Unfortunately for me, this entire fic series is something that is dear to me and I'm a lot more attached to this fic than I am with the source material. whatever nostalgia exists currently has nothing to do with me actually liking the hp series— I’m not a fucking psycho.

its also worth noting that I’m not even into hp anymore aside from me reading the fics and even that's rare these days. while i've had happy memories with this series, that ship sailed a long damn time ago for multiple, very obvious reasons. tbh at this point in my fanfic writing career, I’m just trying to finish something I started (so many wips…) 🫡

There is a small comfort in that said terf can’t make money from fanworks and I’m not consciously contributing financially to her wealth— look, fanfic and fanart legally cannot make money and thus royalties are not possible. Fandom 101: if that shit becomes officially licensed, it defeats the entire point of it being fan-made. Copyright issues aside, fanfic and fanart work in a legal grey area— actively earning money from that is more dicey than you realize. It’s part of the reason why ao3 doesn’t allow linking to sites like Patreon.

Not to mention, the current canon post the initial seven books and movies has been dead to most of the fandom for years now. everyone and their mother has been saying that hp as a fandom atp is like 90% headcanons with the marauders and drarry fandoms holding it together, and like…they ain't wrong. It’s been like that since the series ended— it was already taking a life on its own, Rowling’s bigotry just sped it up bc the fandom didn’t want to actively associate with her in a way that supported her.

I’m not gonna act like the problematic shit in the series doesn’t exist or that it’s worldbuilding is amazing. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve been prone to criticizing the internalized misogyny and racism in the series like most people have been doing for years before me. the joy of growing up 🫡 Plus, dig into any fantastical world that’s currently relevant right now in media and you’re gonna find some plot hole or bigoted shit that the creator never thought about or doesn’t want to fix (see fucking Twilight, where the author didn’t want the director of the first movie to diversify the main cast beyond the Quileute tribe).

The general audience and fandom’s opinions aside, she’s not a good writer outside of the hp series. but for all of the bigoted elements present, what does have some value are the themes of love and sacrifice present in the larger scope of the series. Have other stories done those themes far better? Yeah, duh. Is it super outdated? Anyone with a functioning brain will say yes. But being older, it’s a bit fascinating from a pop cultural zeitgeist perspective. and as shallow as the worldbuilding is in hp, it’s far better than twilight’s lmao. Hell, I lowkey ranted about this on Wattpad years ago lmao. The point is that some ppl have forgotten how to consume media with a critical and rational mindset.

that’s my justification for this fic's existence at least. Look, I ain’t gonna begrudge you if this still doesn’t convince you and think I’m being a terf and racist. this is entirely a ymmv situation. All I ask is that you don’t doxx or cancel my ass 🫠. at the end of the day, fanfic is still fanfic, and worth reminding that if you wanna go after anyone, go after the ppl who are actually still licking jkr’s moldy ass boots and are causing real ass harm outside of the online bubble. This shit goes both fucking ways.

also I’ve tried to remove hp from this fic, trust me. unfortunately for me, hp is baked into this bloody thing. major plot points would have to be overhauled in addition to finding characters to replace the holes hp would leave behind. I would need an entirely different inciting incident to kick off the events in the fic and by that point, I’d be better off writing an entirely different fic. Maybe I could try making another series as the main base world for the fic but I run into the same problem of shifting the plot to the point of it being a different fic entirely.

And if I’m gonna be honest with y’all, I do not have the brain-power to overhaul this fic again. I wanna finish this bloody thing while I’m still fucking alive lmao. knowledge of the hp universe and plot is somewhat needed, but not a requirement, while prior knowledge of the rest of the series/universes combined is not necessary. If you do know, it’ll be a nice bonus of understanding the choices being made for the fic. If not, that’s totally fine.

That being said, being familiar with at least hp, ccs and/or mdzs will be more enjoyable and easier for you in the long run. I would love if you’re familiar with all three (hell, all seven even), esp when taking the world building into consideration. But hp is in a pretty tricky situation, ccs is rather niche (in comparison to sailor moon that is), fairy tail is more mainstream but I’m well aware ppl are sometimes turned off by the fanservice, and mdzs is a danmei— despite the popularity, is decidedly more niche as well.

tbf tho, hp’s plot is pretty old and well known; being aware of the major plot beats should be enough. I’m not gonna force you to have read the books or watched the movies— honestly, just wiki it; even I’m going off on memory alone. given that six worlds are being mashed together, i will be playing around with canon a lot anyway and trying to work around the more bigoted shit in the hp plot. Hey, canon is unchanging but fanfic as a medium exists for a reason lol. Point blank, I wanna make the entry into this fic as painless as possible.

mdzs’ part in this fic will be a reincarnation au in part due to its status of post-canonicity. spoilers to canon aside, taking the reincarnation route was inevitable. Also note that I will not be including cql— I will be working with a combination of novel and donghua canon. Canon is subjective but cql made so many subtle but significant changes that built up to a point where as an adaptation, it’s in effect, (to quote dom noble lol) an “in-name only”.

For the ppl who are familiar with mdzs: as a character, Jiang Cheng is an incredibly polarizing one. And ngl, I believe that jc can be redeemed but his relationship with wwx and his entire family, incl jyl, has to change and acknowledge that he did wwx massively dirty, hence the reincarnation au bc his list of sins is long and that redemption arc wasn’t gonna complete in his first life given the amount of ppl he hurt bc of his hatred for wwx. JC’s redemption (and significantly mellow temper) in this fic has nothing to do with cql— I’m just taking what i think would be natural course of JC’s first life, inevitably having regret as he realized that save for Jin Ling, he’s alone and that was entirely of his own doing. I mention this in the tags but as much as I wanna say this is not for jc haters, my main target will be to have him get the fuck over himself lol. Put simply, this is not a JC bashing fic but it won’t be singing his praises either…esp where his canon atrocities are concerned.

cardcaptor sakura's sequel series (clear card) won't be taken into account— save for Kaito, Momo and Akiho, and their backstories will change accordingly. the OG plot for ccs will run concurrently alongside Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets. everything after prisoner of Azkaban is where the path noticeably diverges from clear card. while I will be taking a “iykyk” attitude when referring to the OG series, I will explain the context of certain events and characters for the ppl who aren’t as savvy with ccs (esp in regards to Eriol Hiiragizawa) as the story moves forward.

suite life’s lore is noticeably different, mostly bc of the time gap between suite life’s time period and hp’s canon time period. TBF the chrs are canonically more comedic— fic appropriate changes had to be made. ngl tho, weirder shit has happened on the show. Hell the movie is one big “wtf am I watching” moment 🫩

fairy tail is used in a more historical context in this fic (aka, post-canon, potentially also after 100YQ but for simplicity’s sake, post canon in this case will be the OG series). I can’t really say any more that that bc of spoilers to the actual fic lmao. One major hint tho: the celestial spirit keys. They will have a major impact on the family politics in this fic. And that’s not even scratching the surface lol.

httyd is in the same boat as fairy tail is— it’s place in the fic is also in historical context and saying anymore than that will be spoiling what I have planned lol, esp where hiccup and Astrid are involved. Just note that in terms of being post-canon, dragons going ‘extinct’ will be played around with, mostly bc of fairy tail’s dragons also….well, going extinct, and hp’s dragons being highly dangerous beasts that you obviously cannot tame and ride.

scooby-doo probably has the least amount of changes; the only iteration of the characters being used are from Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. Also post-canon, and I mean that very loosely. If you are aware of how the show ends, just know that the “when” of where they get sent is a vital distinction from canon and that there’s a reason regression isakai is v popular as a genre.

also, one last thing: There is a wattpad version out there. However, due to the significant amount of changes I’ve outlined, my initial plans for the plot during my teenage yrs and early 20s has become very outdated. If you lot find it — by some miracle lmao bc I have no intention of linking it— it’s only there for nostalgia atp, esp with a rewrite in the works.

diverges during the battle of hogwarts— Sakura Kinomoto and Zack Martin bite the dust

Main focal relationship: Subha Patel and Syaoran Li

a large portion of their relationship post-war/battle of hogwarts is trying to deal with the deaths of their s/o and the aftermath of the war with the rest of their friends all the while slowly falling in love with each other

lotta angst but it does end on a overall happy note

Almost immediately after the war ends, Syaoran and Camille are stuck at hogwarts for the next two months lol, and they both set sorted into gryffindor

Camille’s stuck there mostly to help with the cleanup of hogwarts but also partially bc she spent years going through Hermione’s old schoolbooks and thanks to a device via hiiragizawa, was able to use that knowledge to wield a wand

The final two months are relatively peaceful as everything slowly goes back to normal amid post war recovery operations

Subha and Syaoran gradually end up growing closer, especially with Syaoran helping out with controlling the SAKURA cards that Sakura left in their possession in the wake of her death (and make sure that Subha’s body and magic get acclimatized to the cards)

Two months go by and post a small incident where Subha gets stuck in the forbidden forest after accidentally activating the DREAM card, the relationship noticeably shifts between Subha and Syaoran

They graduate, passing scores on their newts, and Syaoran finally has to go back to hong kong

Before they separate tho, Subha gives Syaoran the HOPE card, knowing the significance of it in his relationship with Sakura

During the first half of the summer, Subha finally deals with the crushing grief of the war that was at least partially kept on the edge thanks to syaoran’s presence

Syaoran’s no different 😭 poor man had a slight breakdown— that was kept at bay in part due to Subha’s presence— in the middle of the night in the family gazebo

They do keep in touch tho, and during a trip down to the market, Syaoran sees a beautiful butterfly clip that can be worn as a comb too. He buys it in a haze and sends it to Subha for her birthday…along with the HOPE card she initially gave to him

you have no idea of the guilt I had when I created this timeline. Like this was my ship and yet I was in the process of hurting them 😂

real talk tho, I was in the middle of a massive hiatus from updating the obsolete ver when I realized that there were no lasting impressions and/or consequences in the original, happier ending of the fic’s plot and started to feel super cheap

There were no long lasting consequences for Subha either, eps for someone who has gone through fucking war along with everyone else. Subha's mental state had to at least reflect the setting she was put into in order for her to be relatable and grounded in that reality.

Sakura's development throughout the fic reflects this thinking. i think even her super friendly and energetic personality would have its limits. With the fic taking place over the course of the HP series, a changing environment has to do one of two things: change the person fundamentally or at least test their core values. ideally, it should do both.

Is it a cheap shot to kill of Sakura and Zack? Depends on how you view it: Sakura and Zack both being fridged as a means to create angst and motivation for their s/o to survive and also creating ramifications for the characters going forward…or as a consequence of the goddamn war that they were literally fighting in, knowing that they probably weren’t gonna come out of it alive. idk man, pick your poison.

btw, I’m not writing Sakura and Zack out of the fic after their deaths lmao, they’re still gonna be present — while haunting the narrative is one of them, there are other ways…let’s just say that adding mdzs has opened up a whole different avenue 👀 no I am not turning them into fierce corpses, I’m not that cruel or stupid. Also Subha and Syaoran both know that Sakura will never forgive them for it

all that being said though, this timeline and the changes the fic in my head has gone though because of it can mostly be attributed to me growing up lol. This entire thing started when I was around 16-ish, well before i know what fanfiction was, and the fic as a concept just gradually evolved with me. The characters, plot and world-building were getting more nuanced and grounded. the main theme of history tending to repeat itself was solidified as a major part of the plot’s consequences. None of that would've happened if i hadn't created this timeline.

angst sells and i'm a writer— exploring different avenues is part of the job description and by extension, what fanfic is all about. It’d be boring and limiting if I just stuck strictly to canon

If the mere title wasn’t obvious, this was supposed to be a one-off scenario. creating this timeline did force me to consider the ramifications of the larger story and its characters at hand. The other bonus to this was that I was in my phase where I wanted some massive yearning and pining…and then it just stuck 😂

And honestly, this is a more recent realization but hearing abt the stranger things series finale being game of thrones s8-level-bad validated the fact that letting my fic evolve from my initial vision was a fucking good thing.

like I wanna reiterate: I was 15/16 when I came up with this fic. the ideas I had back then would not have worked with the current outline of the fic. This thing also used to have five other suckers attached to it— Ouran High School Host Club, Kung Fu Panda (kfp), powerpuff girls, iCarly and Wizards of Waverly Place (wowp).

ouran got dropped bc of a post war arc I scraped when I came up with this timeline. kung fu panda got replaced by fairy tail— and it was for the better in the long run lmao bc wtf was I thinking. icarly and wowp got removed bc while i wanted Carly and Alex to be major players, it just wasn’t fitting the vision and i had to make some sacrifices. ppg got removed bc after demoting princess morbucks to a minor antagonist, the ppg and rrb kinda lost their relevance to the plot.

you wanna know what the funny thing is? wowp has a slightly better chance of being added back into the fic, albeit with more realistic expectations abt where I could fit the characters.

aaaaaand I’m officially getting off track 🫠. But you get the general idea.

Zack is not dead, but poor Sakura still bites the dust

this “arc” was scraped for a multitude of reasons and has no chance of becoming canon (will expand on why in the next page)

you kinda have to take this au with a grain of salt bc some chrs are rlly ooc here (particularly Zack, and eps in comparison to how in the actual fic canon, he’s a lot more intuitive and perceptive when it comes to Subha. Like he obviously grows out of his dumbassery by the end of the arc…but still)

The og plot of this scenario was essentially a break-up arc where Subha was forced to split w/ Zack when her bio cousin starts threatening hermione’s life

chaos ensued in various points, and tensions rose when Zack fell for maya bennett and when the hitachiin twins board with their very young sister, Hikaru took an interest in Subha and it wasn’t long before the two also hit it off and started dating…much to Harry’s (honestly hilarious) dismay bc while he didn’t have a problem with Hikaru as a person, he just did not like him with his sister. Said dismay (and some amt of genuine worry) was also exacerbated by the fact that hikaru’s fancied Subha since they were kids, much like Zack, only slightly earlier by two years

(yes, ouran high school host club used to be part of this fic lol. emphasis on used to be. They had been close friends with Subha, Ginny and Sakura but lost touch when they were fourteen. I wonder why 🥲)

meanwhile, only v few people knew the reason for the split (Lucy, Ron and Cody) and while angry, they also have their hands tied

with mdzs’ addition to the fic— the blackmail bit also includes Wei Wuxian’s overall general quieter life as well. Subha just wants a break from everything by that point and relents bc she loves her a-xian more than anything

Ron, Jin Zixuan, Jiang Yanli and Syaoran do end up finding out and after enduring an attack from pia singh (said bio cousin) in toemeda, they’re quick to board the SS Tipton to make sure Subha doesn’t do anything drastic

(And also to make sure that Harry, Toya, the Blake sisters and Ginny don’t find out lol, bc Ron was positive that heads were gonna start rolling)

(he was right on the money, esp since maya bennett, an old classmate of Sakura, Zixuan, Subha and Ginny from their old muggle primary school (aka, pre-hogwarts), was also on board. They all have massive beef with her, and she started dating Zack three months after Subha and Zack broke up. Zixuan was furious and Yanli was angry at the sheer betrayal of him dating someone their friends clearly don’t trust)

Ron, Syaoran, Yanli and Zixuan were originally just gonna board the ship without anyone knowing so that they could observe the situation (except for moseby lmao) but the spirit of dear old Sakura Kinomoto fixed that real quick

wei wuxian and Jiang cheng have no clue that all of this is going on, they just know that their aunt has had her heart broken massively and are lowkey out for blood; lan wangji and wen qing are legit the only reason why they are not in Azkaban for murder

(and also haven’t informed their mother bc putting aside aunt daphne, dawn is raising absolute hell. they knew dawn has always been incredibly protective of Subha’s autonomy— more so than Daphne at times and refused to let her be parentified.)

(you think jyl’s stopping the twins? oh, bless your heart. Her best friend is sad and heartbroken— she’s absolutely raising hell with those idiotas.)

Subha and Syaoran's relationship develops at a significantly faster pace than the OG alt timeline and totally not bc of divine intervention…esp since they start tentatively dating as a means to just try to move on with the agreement that if they find someone else they can pretend it never happened…even as they are growing closer and rapidly falling for e/o

Sakura, watching over the two from heaven: “casual”, eh? how about you don’t make my sister wait a year for you to confess, Syaoran-kun—

given that sakura was alive in the og ver of this arc, the changes to syaoran’s role are…pretty damn significant bc in the OG arc, he was just…there? I don’t remember doing much with him admittedly 😭

It is rather funny that he’s now a major chr in her place and the one with the incentive and need to protect Subha from the bullshit around her. well that, and he did promise Sakura that he would look after Subha lol. It was just that falling in love with Subha was a side effect that literally no one except for Sakura saw coming

literally Subha’s relationship with Syaoran in this arc is the definition of “oh how the tables have turned” bc pre battle of hogwarts, she often (lovingly) teased Sakura abt him and now she’s kinda eating her own words lowkey

The revised ver is accounting for a Subha and Syaoran endgame (obv) and the love triangle aspect is noticeably absent bc Subha and Zack are not pining after e/o in this ver; both of their attentions are now focused on their new s/o. Zack really only realizes that he’s lost Subha (in the romantic sense) for good once he sees how free and open she is with Syaoran.

I kinda like the idea of Sakura literally haunting zack’s ass once he starts dating maya and getting really weirdly…jealous(?) of subha evidently falling for Syaoran, and honestly that last bit is what increased her appearances in trying to make Zack’s life absolutely miserable bc in Sakura’s mind, he lost Subha to Syaoran the moment he let Subha break up with him w/o asking the question of what subha’s actual emotional state was at that point to even warrant the breakup

Maya Bennett used to be a major character in the fic when this arc was still kicking in the fic’s canon. She had been friends with Subha, Sakura and Ginny during their childhoods but had a rather complicated relationship with Ginny that lasted well until the time the arc kickstarts.

Her dating Zack also caused massive complications between her friendship with Subha that opened up a big can of worms that I don’t wanna get into; just know that it was really, really fucking dumb

The only similarity between the og and revised ver of this arc is that childhood connection but significantly less complicated in the revised ver— I’ve lowkey relegated her to a side chr/minor villain. However, she does have some sense of compassion, esp where sakura’s death was concerned.

she’s also a muggle-born witch in the revised ver (attended ilvermorny in America, London Tipton was her senior by five yrs) as opposed to her being a muggle originally and she does genuinely end up bonding with Zack on some level bc of their shared connection to the wizarding world

in an special a/n I posted on the now obsolete Wattpad ver in celebration of fairy tail’s OG series ending, i briefly talked about this arc, mulling over the number of changes the fanfic had gone through up till then.

…and then I thought about how this arc would work with the current state of the fic and by extension, the alt timeline, esp w/ Sakura’s death but not Zack’s. It led me to start thinking up of scenes and old, old memories of me cooking up this arc were starting to pop up. Essentially this revised version is me feeling somewhat nostalgic for this arc despite its more cringe elements lmao.

(trust me when I say that you don’t wanna know how fucking convoluted & pointless the original ver was. on one hand I was trying to make use of suite life on deck’s last few episodes so it really was just me not understanding good drama and tension. On the other tho…I mean what did you expect honestly I was 16 😭)

ouran being on the chopping block also contributed to the arc being scraped. they were minor characters and they didn’t affect the plot all that much, and it was mostly the twins at that for a short period. Like Hikaru and Subha’s ultimately short romance did make a mark on them both in a way that affected the finale of the entire fic and the relationships colliding at that apt, but the alt timeline ended up changing things

Funny thing is, I did have plans for the rest of the host club but it never came to fruition. If it’s not super obvious, hikaru pretty much got replaced with Syaoran in this revised ver. Poor Hikaru, he never got to be Subha’s endgame lmao. like I dabbled with the idea before coming up with the concept of the alt timeline so…there’s that I suppose

besides all of that, the logistics of them also attending seven seas high back then was super iffy 😭 esp since they’re of the age that they were supposed to go to college in the muggle world lol

This arc was created when fairy tail was not even in the fic’s canon, and when it was added, the only that was changed with the arc was the amount of people who had the bigger picture of what was actually going on—enter Lucy and Erza’s involvement. the alt timeline was barely an afterthought that I didn’t put much stock into at the time. mdzs was barely a series and I wasn’t even aware of dammei as a genre yet, let alone being into it. so yeah, this thing getting scraped was bloody inevitable

80% of the changes made for the revised version of this arc are bc of my own growth as a writer, 10% is to account for the fandoms that have been added in and removed since, and the last 10% is bc i don’t remember half the details of the original scraped arc (aka, it’s been years since I’ve last thought about it)

takes the OG alt timeline route for post battle of hogwarts

Ironically this au is also part of the reason why the fic started to take a more mature route, especially in the uh…erotic department. The fic had been mostly vanilla till then— like no smut beyond just probably intense making out and then dear old gil reminded me that “oh yeah. Subha is a growing girl and even with Zack as her bf, will probably have considerably repressed her more sexual desires bc of the war”

starts right after the events of the fate route in f/sn; gil gets defeated by saber, but instead of his spirit fading way, it somehow finds its way into the MF universe.....aka, at the near end of Subha's 5th year at Hogwarts

long story short, Gil corners Subha, both of them try to kill each other

Hermione and Jiang Yanli hear the commotion and tries to help but they both gets their asses beat eventually

he's abt to kill them all three of them before Merlin comes to the rescue, the only catch being that the four of them are now bound in a typical Holy Grail War Master-Servant contract, with Subha, Yanli and Hermione essentially co-masters to Gilgamesh, command seals and all...without the Holy Grail War to go with it

the four of them spend the next three to four years together, with gil overseeing the three through the Crocus incident and the war, despite thinking that the latter was a total waste of time

they all do end up developing a begrudging (but still genuine) respect for each other

since this takes the OG alt timeline route, Sakura and Zack are still dead post battle of hogwarts (this is important bc gil and subha's relationship goes through a wave of significant changes that most definitely would not have happened had Zack survived)

subha's relationship with syaoran develops at a slightly slower rate because of this as well (aka, they’re even slower to realize their feelings for e/o but the irony is that by the time it’s Gilgamesh’s time to leave, having learned some amount of humility and care for humanity, they’re both in a better place to accept it and give it a go)

second au that had been running around in my head but never came to fruition until recently

one thing to note abt this particular au: parallel dimensions are at work so essentially some of the MF crew (*cough* Subha and Hermione *cough*) get stuck in amestris for about a week or so

this won't take the FMAB movie (Sacred Star of Milos) into account for the reason that essentially this takes place around FMAB, post episode 20

Subha's cousin Pia Singh steals her Ring Journals (dangerous bc that ring has all of Subha's memories in that thing)

Pia makes off with Hermione's ring as well (she was desperate) and somehow ends up losing the rings as she lands in Amestris

Subha's ring somehow ends up in Winry's hands (still in Resembool) but Hermione's.....ends up in Envy's hands

meanwhile subha and hermione bump into Ed and Al (fifteen and fourteen respectively, Ed has his automail arm, Al's soul still bonded to the armour)

the elric brothers become intrigued with the Wizarding World's version of the Philosopher's Stone and (after making sure they were telling the truth) decided to help the two witches find the rings

basically, taking Equivalent Exchange into account Subha and Hermione's rings were their way back home

hermione and subha also end up meeting Riza, Armstrong and Winry (basically the gang present at that point in the series) and get a grasp of the world and the way it works (basically putting down alchemy as "science-based" magic, the use of physical matter around them and applying philosophical ideology to their use of magic)

they eventually find envy, who's hoping to use said rings to possibly speed up Father's Grand Plan™

it is at this time when Hermione and Subha find out Ed and Al's real reason behind wanting to know about Nicolas Flamel's version of the Philosopher's stone, as well as the true nature of the Homunculi

beating Envy and Gluttony by a very narrow margin, Hermione and Subha use their tickets to get home

Subha gave Winry a lacrima to use to see the Elric Brothers and how they are doing bc Lord knows what the hell they'll be up to (although she never really got to use it to watch them cause she was dealing with a ton of shit herself)

she did end up watching Subha and Hermione during the war and the Battle of Hogwarts, which both Ed and Al watched footage of after coming back home (Winry watched the entire thing live)

cut to a year after the wizarding world war, Pia tries again, only this time Harry and Ron tag along in place of Hermione

the three of them land smack dab in Resembool again (in front of Winry’s house) and Pia lands in Briggs

the ranting that erupted out of Winry's mouth after she tackled Subha nearly blew all of their ears off 😂

when subha saw ed with no automail arm and al with his actual body back, she quite literally let out a rather small squeal of joy that neither harry or ron thought was possible to come out of her (for amestris by then, it had been at least two years after the final battle with father)

although unbeknownst to the girls and class A, aizawa and mcgonagall have known each other for years, so the portal mishap was more so it moving to where the magical energy seemed the strongest (aka, Subha and Sakura)

a portal to a parallel world I know, know, but go with it but this portal works differently (ie, it’s a natural point and not forcibly opened) and until Subha and her friends come across it, the only people who know it exists are Aizawa, Mic (aka Hizashi) and Mcgonagall and Dumbledore.

bc of this, Aizawa and Mcgonagall have known each other and have been friends practically since the Marauders era ✌️

I say that but given the massive age gap, one could say that Mcgonagall took him under her wing as her unofficial mentee(?) bc he was starting UA when he met her— and we all know what happened during that time 🙃

so aizawa is def aware of the situation during the actual hp plot and Mcgonagall has def ranted about Fudge on more than one occasion

When class A bumps into the girls, it’s about two-three months before the war against the paranormal liberation front in jaku (They’re also a year younger, essentially the same age as Ginny 😂)

Aizawa does manage to send them back after two weeks but not before he, nezu and all might end up going through the girls’ ring journals (aizawa wanted to make sure that LOV weren’t somehow impersonating mcgonagall’s own students)

cute lil’ hc is class A referring to the girls (save for Ginny) as their senpais. This is also added to the fact that the girls attended classes as a cover for their actual origin, hence the honorifics

two lacrima visions get left behind by accident. Bc of this midoriya and todoroki end up watching the entire wizarding world war unfold, up to the battle of hogwarts

a year later (post-war on both ends), aizawa gives Harry and Subha one hell of an earful while mcgonagall wearily stands off to the side bc she agrees with him about their recklessness

Class a end up reconnecting with the girls while also meeting Harry and the others

Subha, with her ever expanding understanding of her own elemental powers, is told by aizawa to give class A pointers on how to use their quirks more effectively

Subha and Shoto start growing closer as a result and nearing class a’s graduation, Shoto realizes that he’s fallen in love with her

he doesn’t do much about it though, and even though they’re in touch, almost five years pass before they’re face to face again

this au does takes the OG alt timeline into account post battle of hogwarts, so both zack and sakura are dead after the war

syaoran's relationship w/ subha is platonic....for this particular au that is (it’s still endgame for the canon version, I’m just experimenting with subha’s romantic relationship with another s/o...which I haven't decided yet lmao)

(right now, post-war endgame relationship for this au is Subha Patel and Jin Zixuan, but make no mistake, xuanli will still be canon for the main fic)

but that won't stop syaoran from running after subha like a tired older brother (and her vice versa like good god they share one braincell 90% of the time)

wei wuxian and jiang cheng are reborn/reincarnated as twin brothers into the blake family and are subsequently named wuxian and wanyin blake

their parents? dawn blake (daphne blake's sister, subha patel-blake's adoptive sister) and wei changze, so this effectively makes subha the twins’ aunt, even tho she’s like only five years older than them

jiang cheng has his memories the moment he is born, however wei wuxian doesn't regain his until they both turn four

jin zixuan and jiang yanli are subha's best friends in addition to ginny, sakura, zack and cody

jin zixuan and subha have actually known each other slightly longer than zack and cody— a byproduct of daphne blake, her mother and jzx's parents knowing each other

yanli couldn’t grow up with subha like zixuan could; long story short, the jiangs (read: yu ziyuan) want nothing to do with the blakes.....which is gonna get complicated real quick when jiang yanli and subha meet as first years on the hogwarts express and become fast friends

jin zixuan is very well aware of jiang cheng and wei wuxian are brothers by blood this time around, and hasn't told yanli that they are alive (yet), knowing the chain reaction it will inevitably cause (read: he's understandably terrified of yu ziyuan and doesn't want to put his new friend on her wrath radar)

worth noting that subha is his first best friend....like yanli is there too on the other side but like he could've totally chosen to not be friends with subha, the important thing is that while he still cherishes yanli, it was a relationship that was still foisted onto both of them, while with subha it was a relationship that felt like he had a fucking choice

both nies are alive, and subha (once wwx and jc tell her everything) is doing everything in her power to not let them drag her nephews into their bulshit

meanwhile, hermione granger gains a new cousin, the younger sister of camille merriweather, priya merriweather, who, (surprise, surprise) is the reincarnation of priya patel (julia merriweather has no idea that her new daughter is priya, she just wanted to name her after her best friend)

wei wuxian and jiang cheng are both muggle-borns, which is kinda funny considering that their adoptive aunt is a pureblood witch

at any rate, both wei wuxian and jiang cheng both end up in gryffindor, something that surprises jiang cheng

jiang yanli, meanwhile, still has jiang fengmian and yu ziyuan as her parents and still has to deal with the same bullshit from them, even if jiang cheng and wei wuxian aren't jiangs anymore

the only difference now, is that she gains new two younger twin siblings nameed jiang mingyue (江明月) and jiang baihe (江百合) and she loves them all the same anyway

mingyue and baihe are reincarnations of Madhi Patel and Lily Potter (respectively), and jiang fengmian, the cheeky bastard that he is, immediately knew and gave them their names accordingly

tbf, the real question is how tf yu ziyuan let jiang fengmian name their younger kids after two people she despised...yeah she very much has a history of just being a total dick towards the Patels and the Potters, let alone the already massive beef she has with priya (and lily by pure association).

Then again, while the connection from lily’s past life to her chinese name isn’t that hard to make (relatively speaking that is), it’s not like she paid any real attention to what madhi’s name— full name, madhioli— meant in Indian culture and why jiang fengmian named mingyue the way that he did lol

the irony of yu ziyuan being sorted into gryffindor as a student at hogwarts, but her personality later in life reflecting almost none of what being a gryffindor normally entails except maybe being reckless and a single-minded bitch…but I’ll give her the grace of saying that she did have the qualities of a gryffindor at the start, only for her to get incredibly bitter and petty again, never learning her lesson from her previous life.

At the end of the day, her pride has always been her downfall and it will cost her. Not her life, no—not this time, but rather her relationship with every single one of her children, both former and current.

a daughter who lived long enough to become a mother herself in her past life and frankly has had enough of yu ziyuan’s petty bullshit and the last straw was always gonna be yu ziyuan directing her ire onto her best friend. a former son who does not wanna repeat his own dumbass mistakes. two reincarnated twin souls who spend at least once per day wondering what heinous deed they committed to have yu ziyuan as their new mother while their a-jie becomes their sole sanctuary from the madness.

…yeah, by the time yu ziyuan realizes the damage, it’ll be too late for her to make any sort of amends

given her proud nature, I prob should’ve put her in slytherin but honestly, we don’t have enough evil and/or asshole gryffindors. If anything, severus snape double-crossing voldemort and peter pettigrew’s betrayal shows that the house does not define their actions, although they do make a mark. again, idk man. pick your poison.

jiang fengmian was a hufflepuff, and a lot of people expected his daughter to end up in the same house as him, given their seemingly similar dispositions, but alas, the sorting hat had different ideas lmao

both jiang yanli and jiang mingyue end up being sorted into ravenclaw (in madhi's case, again); jiang baihe is again sorted into gryffindor

the jiangs, jins and lans are all pureblood families, but reincarnated lan xichen and lan wangji are both half bloods because their mother is a muggle

their family history is largely the same, except for the fact that madam lan's parents forced her into a marriage with the twin jades' father, who later died of a heart attack

madam lan and lan qiren get their memories back at the same time, and immediately lqr was adamant that madam lan leave the family and her sons

madam lan on the other hand, wasn't having it, she was tired of being pushed around by the lans and thus got into a huge argument that would've spanned years if lxc and lwj didn't step in and reveal that they got their memories back, and that if their mother left, they were not staying, period

lqr just relents in resignation, thus madam lan is very much alive and healthy well into her sons' adult lives

lan qiren was a ravenclaw, however only lan xichen ended up in the same house as lqr years later, as lan wangji ended up being sorted into gryffindor and one can imagine lqr being pissed about wangji being put in the same house as wwx and not being able to convince dumbledore to switch him to a different house (thank harry and subha for THAT)

luna lovegood is literally lan xichen’s closest and also his best friend by a certain point; he feels too awkward and guilty around nie mingjue, meng yao was completely out of the question

luna, to her credit, was one of the few people able to take lan qiren’s constant criticisms about being xichen’s choice of friend with a grain of salt; anyone else in her position would’ve ended any friendship or relationship they had with xichen bc they absolutely cannot mentally handle his uncle

the jins are a pureblood wizarding family, but they also have significant ties to the muggle world as well

because of this, jin zixuan (much like subha) grew up being well acquainted with both worlds

much like jiang yanli, he's also stuck dealing with the same bullshit from his parents (i.e, jin guangshan's philandering ways, his mother screaming at jgs at every turn) and for both him and jiang yanli, subha is definitely a reprieve from their stressful home lives

meng yao is a half blood like lan xichen so they have something in common for once 😂😂😂😂 (im sorry I’ll see myself out)

meng shi, (jin guangyao’s mother) is a muggle and has heard the rumours about her son's rise and eventual downfall; while she's not happy, at this point, she's just glad that they have a more stable life than they did back in their previous lives

bc of this, jin guangyao/meng yao is now actively avoiding the jins per his mother's pleading

(although once subha tells jin zixuan about meng yao holding jin ling hostage, meng yao is absolutely done for)

also, meng yao has been sorted into slytherin, like the bastard's still got ambition and a sly mind, however muted by his mother

jin zixuan's mom was in hufflepuff and his father in slytherin; various jins landed up in different houses (in fact, a large portion are slytherin alumni), but zixuan himself is literally the only gryffindor in the entire clan...which honestly should say a lot

jin zixun is a hufflepuff, something that greatly annoys him and is a huge dick to his housemates as a result

qin su is also hufflepuff, and in this current life, is largely a quiet and timid person

qin su also avoids meng yao like the plague (and in her sixth year, subha patel proves to be immensely helpful in that regards…for completely mysterious reasons)

zixuan and yanli are very much confused by subha’s attempts to comfort, help and befriend qin su…only to find out how much of a scumbag jin guangshan was after doing some digging

unfortunately the sperm donor of a father remains the same, with madam qin eventually committing suicide right before qin su started attending hogwarts

sect leader qin does find out what happened and is very distraught about the fact that his wife never told him about her SA and ultimately swears revenge but he still loves qin su like his own regardless because at the end of the day, he was the one who raised her…twice, one might add lmao

wen ning and wen qing are alive and well, as is the rest of their family

unfortunately, this also means that wen ruohan, wen chao, wang lingjiao and wen xu are also alive

that being said, wen ruohan doesn’t reeeally give a shit about taking over the cultivation world anymore or the wizarding world for that matter (yeah, not even wrh wants to deal with the sheep/mob mentality of the cultivation world, and after finding out about the aftermath of his defeat in the sunshot campaign, he wants it even less)

he is however, content with more or less having an iron grip over the wen clan so he is still an ass

wen ruohan is very much amused when it gets out that the yiling laozu and sandu sengshou are subha patel and harry potter‘s nephews

while wen qing ends up fighting in the battle of hogwarts, (with her also joining the dumbledore’s army during her fifth year), wen ning is forced to go into hiding alongside wei wuxian and jiang cheng (thanks subha)

wen xu sits out of the entire war along with his father, but that doesn’t stop wen chao from joining the war as a death eater

wen ning is a hufflepuff, with wen qing ending up in ravenclaw (y'all saw this coming, don't @ me), wen chao and wen xu end up in slytherin; wang lingjiao is a squib, a forever stain on her reputation in the wizarding world, but that also means that the cultivation world cares about her even less than before and as a result, is a laughing stock

wen qing is recognized pretty early as a medical prodigy, with madame pomfrey taking wen qing under her wing outside of class time

she also finds out about wei wuxian and jiang cheng being alive (and them being the adoptive twin nephews of the two most famous godsiblings) through hermione of all people

padma patil is wen qing’s best friend and like luna, is very much aware of their past lives and found it odd that yanli and zixuan haven’t told subha yet

wen zhuliu is also alive but no longer uses the wen name; he goes by zhao zhuliu and is content with just managing a small bookstore while not interacting with the cultivation world on the whole

zhao zhuliu however, had grown up with madhi patel and because of this, got embroiled in the 1st wizarding world war and consistently remembers madhi as a good, compassionate man; he wouldn't be the first nor the last person to see a significant amount of madhi in subha by a long shot

in the grand scheme of the plot, the nie brothers are rather minor characters

but worth noting that nie huaisang ends up as a ravenclaw (the sorting hat seriously considered him for slytherin, but nhs wanted to just spend his days in carefree mode, so the hat just shoved him in ravenclaw 😂)

nie mingjue, to no one’s shock in the cultivation world, ends up as a gryffindor

nmj still has no idea about the bullshit his brother pulled in their past lives after his death and that huaisang garnered the “headless shaker” title for the next 13 years just to topple jin guangyao

…at least until one day, he overhears huaisang and subha patel talking, where subha tells him that he can do whatever the fuck he wants to meng yao, but the minute nhs tries to manipulate her nephew wei wuxian into his plans, subha will tell mingjue everything and also destroy both of the nies’ reputation in the process

nie huaisang, to his credit, doesn’t try to keep up his façade like he usually does to literally everyone else, because he had the dire feeling that subha was not fucking around

nie mingjue does end up getting some more details from lan xichen tho, and he is…understandably a bit distraught that huaisang had to go that far

none of the 3-zun trio members want nothing to do with each other, or more specifically, nmj and lxc no longer want to have anything to do with meng yao (and unfortunately for meng yao, the fact that he’s been sorted into slytherin doesn’t exactly help in him trying to make any sort of amends)

nie huaisang still (indirectly) torments the shit outta meng yao tho, and it’s because of huaisang that word got out about meng yao’s parentage within slytherin house

su minshan was sorted into slytherin, however he was also full of green envy and often acted like he knew everything to the point where the teachers would inwardly groan every time he raised his hand and were met with a wrong answer every single time without fail. he was more of a discount gilderoy lockhart, if you will, only far more cowardly and even more of a traitorous bastard. Even the vast majority of slytherins hated his ass, he was that annoying 😂

like if death eaters were to invade hogwarts before the year the actual battle of hogwarts took place, su she would absolutely sell out the entire school to save his own skin

su she was however caught plagiarizing his essays a few times and after like the fifth time, the teachers had caught on and he subsequently got expelled in his sixth year (unsurprisingly, mcgonagall was absolutely fed up with his bs)

in some respects, the other sects really haven’t changed, their classism and elitism having definitely shifted to include the toxic pureblood ideology of the wizarding world (oh, you hoped they would actually grow and see any modern nuance? hope is for idiots; have you read the ending of the MDZS novel—)

despite that, they only had so much power, and because of that one single factor, it was a relatively kinder world for people like meng yao than it was in the past and this is true especially for xiao xingchen, song lan and a-qing (unforgiving in some aspects, but still kinder)

both xiao xingchen and song lan graduated hogwarts years ago as a gryffindor and ravenclaw respectively (and just a few years short of harry, subha and their friends starting their first year) but still showed up to fight during the battle of hogwarts

after the war, the two brought a-qing with them to visit wei wuxian at blake manor

luo qingyang was born a muggle and like wei changze, had access to her golden core

she attended weston private academy, where her classmates included camille merriweather and sakura kinomoto among others, and it was through them that she found that wei wuxian had reincarnated and that sakura was one of his aunts 😂

cangse sanren didn’t reincarnate and honestly is just content watching over her loved ones, and approves of dawn as wwx’s second mother (and a damn good present one at that…although ngl dawn was significantly motivated to not turn her adoptive sister into a glorified babysitter. then again, that’s still not inherently a bad motive lol)

ccsr also kept a keen eye on subha when she was at hogwarts…i think at one point she might’ve bribed one of the Hogwarts ghosts to try and shave off umbridge’s hair as revenge for subha’s punishment with the lines, but they outright refused

somehow, she managed to get the weasley twins to make the woman’s life hell (the twins didn’t question why she suspiciously resembled wwx at the time, the question really only hit when the war ended and yanli and subha were well on their way in beating up half of the cultivation world)

during subha’s sixth year (also wwx’s first year), when lan qiren temporarily took over binns’ position of teaching history of magic, you bet your goddamn ass that ccsr shaved off lqr’s beard, partially as revenge for everything he’s ever said and done to her a-ying and also because he was attempting to single out subha for her mere association to wwx and if the weasley twins were still attending, she absolutely would’ve let them do it

anyway lily potter and cssr and their actions both haunt the narrative in ways you only understand once you start comparing their haters 😂

however the doctor and his companions are literally jumping through time and different dimensions— expect some fuckery and other wibbly wobbly, timey wimey bullshit with, well…everything lol.

fifteen will be difficult to work with (but not impossible!) bc this au kinda depends on the chronological progression of their regeneration

and speaking of fifteen— Belinda and Ruby both will be there bc rtd is an idiot and utterly wasted all three of their character arcs. Belinda’s arc in particular was done so fucking dirty, like genuinely WOW

Okay, to start off: dw as a show exists in this au but the actual doctor and his companions come from a dimension where their lives decidedly are not a tv show.

Basically, all of the worlds combined in this fic exists as their real world counterparts in the doctor’s dimension— ie, hp is the book series and exists as an “inaccurate” account of Harry’s life (once Harry finds out, he’s more amused than mad. If anything he’s furious that neither of his sisters were mentioned 😂), ccs is the manga/anime, scooby-doo as the famous mystery-Solving cartoon, etc.

(And in dw’s case, we’re following the real world’s timeline of its initial cancellation and revival, so nine’s run is not even out in the fic’s world yet)

so this au starts with sakura’s death during the battle of hogwarts with the tenth doctor and rose tyler landing smack dab in the middle of it

sakura, in the process of transferring her control of the SAKURA cards to Subha as the new master and Syaoran as her secondary successor, spots ten and rose in the stands of the burning quidditch pitch

in her dying breath, she smiles and also enables “the doctor proclamation”, and Sakura’s magic circle is visible as a stamp on ten and rose’s hands. the TARDIS is also now protected by Sakura’s magic as ten and rose immediately hightail it

but let’s turn back the clock a bit to 1983, when Subha was three; nine and rose happen to drop on a blake property in Scotland

Daphne Blake finds them and the TARDIS and honestly overwhelmed for a bit to not realize that that was the same TARDIS from that stupid old tv show. But they offer to watch a toddler Subha for a short amount of time and nine likes Subha and her quiet nature, eps since she gets mesmerized by a simulation of the stars in the TARDIS 🥹. Rose liked her too for what little time they spent together.

cut to the time after nine regenerates into ten; he and rose barely escaped the chaos of the battle of hogwarts after Sakura cast her spell on the TARDIS. cut to years later in Subha’s life— ten and rose come literally barging in the backyard of Blake manor (by accident) barely three months after the battle of hogwarts. Subha Patel just turned eighteen and for her, rose tyler was literally frozen in time 🫡

time fuckery for both rose and subha aside bc rose was way too used to this shit by now and Subha loved Doctor Who the Show(tm) growing up lol, ten and rose offer Subha a trip in the TARDIS after she offers to repair the TARDIS’ navigation system which got damaged in the crash landing

Said TARDIS lands itself in 1983…in toemeda, japan, when nadeshiko kinomoto was still alive (for what it’s worth, nadeshiko took it mostly in stride, bc she recognized Subha as priya’s grown up daughter immediately 😭 pray for Subha’s heart atp)

she was rather surprised at subha being fluent in Japanese tho and that the TARDIS’ translation matrix had nothing to do with it

nadeshiko does find out about the subsequent future war and that her daughter was going to die as Subha sat in the living room drawing with the three yr old ver of her godsister

at the end of the day, nadeshiko was happy that Sakura was and will be loved. She holds Subha’s hand gently and tells her that no one blames her for Sakura’s death—that she must’ve known the consequences of getting involved. on some level, both of them knew that being stuck grieving sakura’s death rather than celebrating her life was probably the last thing Sakura wanted for Subha

nadeshiko would know lol, she herself went through that with the first wizarding world war

even after the TARDIS team left, nadeshiko kept all of Subha’s drawings of her daughter grown up, looking powerful and kind. It’s a keepsake that Sakura carried with her everywhere, not realizing that her sister was the one who drew them until she meets eleven, Amy and Rory at the age of sixteen, hours before albus dumbledore’s death

It’s later revealed that “the Doctor proclamation” was a spell to lock the Doctor into looking after Subha for the rest of her life as a secondary reassurance. Ten intrinsically understood this, and it became even more apparent once the tardis crash landed in the Blake manor backyard and back into Subha’s life

Subha and Syaoran have literally no idea that all of this is going on in the background btw; after the trip back to 1983 toemeda, an emotionally exhausted Subha collapses into syaoran’s arms

and thus starts syaoran’s beef w/ the doctor lol bc the doctor’s constantly dragging Subha off to god knows where and it’s a constant whack-a-mole of whether Subha comes outta the TARDIS home relatively fine, hurt and wounded, or saddled with even more trauma (hello daleks 💔)

16 yr old Sakura: you could stand to heed some of Syaoran-kun’s worries
eleven: you and your sister are both prone to running into the first light of danger you see 🫠. Also, this is Syaoran with Subha alone. He finds out that I let you travel into the future and let you run after a dalek in rage, my head on a silver platter is guaranteed. Especially if he’s anything like Rory—
